The skin on our neck is one of the most sensitive areas on our entire body and is often one of the first places that show changes with age. Our neck is often exposed to the sun as much as our face, and since the skin is thin and quite fragile compared to our face, wrinkles and sagging skin may show up before they do on any other part of the body.
There are a lot of tips out there for skincare, which can be overwhelming, so we decided to create a simple routine that can help to give your neck the love it needs.
1.Cleanse
Cleansing your neck as thoroughly you do your face is important! It removes the makeup in your pores, as well as bacteria and pollutants that can make your skin look dull and promote wrinkle formation.
Skin can seem to feel or look drier with age, so your cleansing routine should also accommodate for your changing skin. Using a cream cleanser can be a better option for your skin as you get older, as it can be more moisturising than other options.
It is important to be extra gentle with your neck because of how sensitive it is, and always remember to rub in upward-outward circles!
2. Exfoliate
You may already be exfoliating your face a few times a week, depending on your skin type, but exfoliating your neck can be just as important. Exfoliators can be quite harsh on the skin, and thus must be used in moderation especially on your neck.
3. Moisturise with Neck Cream
Moisturizing can be one of the most important parts of your routine. It adds necessary moisture to your skin that can make fine lines and wrinkles less apparent.
You may be using the same moisturizer for your face and neck, but it may make a huge difference to use a cream that is targeted and designed especially for your neck! Our Anti Aging Neck Cream is just that. It contains hyaluronic and glycolic acid which are some of the best ingredients to look for in anti-aging products. You can read more about these ingredients here.
4. Use a Neck Roller
Neck rollers have become very popular recently and for good reason. Anything that improves circulation in the face can be a big step towards better skin. Gently rolling the skin on your neck with our Rose Quartz Face & Neck Roller can promote lymphatic drainage and decrease the appearance of puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles. It can be one of the best tools in tightening and firming your skin.
5. Apply Sunscreen
Sunscreen is one of the most important things to remember in your skin routine, for your face as well as your neck. The Sun’s UV rays can lead to thinner skin and therefore to wrinkles. Applying SPF to your neck everyday can protect your skin against the Sun and improve the texture of your skin.
Making sure to pay attention to your neck in your skincare routine can be greatly beneficial in improving its texture and firmness, giving your neck the TLC it deserves!
