Why Neck Cream Should Be a Daily Skincare Must-Have

Why Neck Cream Should Be a Daily Skincare Must-Have

There are some skincare and cosmetic products that can work two jobs at once, and it’s sometimes okay to double up on your products. After all, having multi-use products means that you have to spend less money building up the things you need to make your routine perfect.

On the other hand, there are some parts of your everyday skincare routine that deserve their own, personalized product. Your face and your neck, for example, each need their own kind of TLC.

It’s a common skincare mistake to use the same moisturizer or cream for your neck as you use for your face. Or even worse, to neglect your neck altogether.

But for the best results, you should have one cream that’s made for your neck, and another cream that’s made for your face, especially as you get older.

Why the Difference?

Your face and your neck have unique needs as you age, and using the same product for both of them won’t give each of them the specific attention that they need.

If you were to point out the skin concerns on your face, you may point to fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots/discoloration, dark circles and redness.

If you were to point out the skin concerns on your neck, you may point to droopy skin under your chin, sagging jowls, and vertical lines, horizontal creases and crepey skin texture.

Different skin concerns require different ingredients to combat them.

On top of that, the skin on your face is different than the skin on your neck and chest.

There’s some overlap such as the need to assist with collagen production, but the skin on your neck is significantly thinner than the skin on your face, which causes some major differences between the two.

The skin on your neck is also more elastic than the skin on your face. Both areas are high movement areas (meaning that the skin is commonly moved around because of facial expressions or turning your head), but your neck moves even more than your face, even when you don’t realize it.

Due to this and the fact that the skin is naturally thinner, the skin around your neck is more prone to wrinkling than the skin on your face.

The same can be said for the skin around your cleavage as it has a very similar thickness to the skin around your neck and sees a similar amount of movement throughout the day. That’s why Fièra recommends using your neck cream on the skin around your cleavage as well.

What’s the Difference Between Creams?

There is some carryover between quality face and neck creams. For example, the best face and neck creams will have some form of vitamin E in them in order to protect against free radicals. They’ll also likely have an ingredient to promote hydration in your skin.

Fièra’s Apple Stem Cell Cream and our Multi-Effect Neck + Décolletage Cream both have ingredients similar or identical to the ones listed above, but our neck cream has a large focus on improving elasticity.

Because skin loses elasticity as you age, it’s important to promote a regeneration of that trait and preserve the elasticity that still remains. That’s why our cruelty-free, vegan Multi-Effect Neck + Décolletage Cream has Edelweiss Extract, glycerin, and sodium hyaluronate (a stronger version of hyaluronic acid, essentially). All of these ingredients improve your skin’s elasticity.

Fièra’s Neck Cream has incredible reviews from women over 40 who have seen significant improvements in the skin on their neck looking tighter and firmer. Just recently, it was rated Best Tightening Cream by Shape Magazine, Best Tightening Cream for the Neck & Chest by People Magazine and featured as a top neck cream in Byrdie.com.

If your face’s skin is naturally oily, then you might definitely want to consider a separate cream for your face (such as a serum) as neck creams are rich and creamy. They contain a lot of natural moisturizers in order to reintroduce hydration into your skin, such as the shea butter in our neck cream.

While doubling up can save you some cash and is usually very effective, it’s important to not skimp out when it counts! Your face and neck will both thank you.
